![]() ![]() She married Edmund Gordon Byne in Augusta, Ga., on July 15, 1948. She was a graduate of Tubman High School and received her degree in history from Limestone College in Gaffney, S.C. Byne participated in the founding of Burke Academy and Burkehaven Christian School. She and her husband attended Burkehaven Chapel and were among the founding families of the non-denominational church. Her family members were known for their Christian hospitality. Byne’s home was always open to traveling missionaries and ministers. Also, called on by many for being a prayer warrior, Mrs. For many, many years, up until January of 2009, she was host for a Wednesday morning Bible study in her home for women. She was always interested in young women becoming followers of the Almighty. Byne was well known for mission work in leading others to Christ. Byne, was a native of Richmond County and the daughter of the late Raleigh Hightower and Nell Nolan Daniel.Īn accomplished artist in oils and china painting, Mrs. ![]() The family received friends at their home, 535 Jones Ave., from 5-8 p.m. Private graveside services for the family were held one hour prior to the service at Magnolia Cemetery in Waynesboro.
